Rob Oaks—Chief Executive Officer
After graduating from Johns Hopkins University in 1982 and Cornell University in 1986, Rob entered the information technology world and has never looked back.

Recent positions include Chief Technology Officer at KnowledgeFlow, a firm that creates distinctive online solutions for companies in the financial sector and Senior System Architect at Omicron Consulting, an Inc 500 corporation that specializes in enterprise solutions for the Fortune 1000 segment.

In all, Rob's IT experience spans more than a dozen years, encompassing technical, management, and executive roles. In the course of his career he has emphasized strategic perspective, architectural vision, and clear communication backed up by nuts-and-bolts technical depth.

It is the combination of these qualities as well as an abiding passion for the strange and wonderful world of information technology that has consistently distinguished Rob's approach.
Ellen Cassidy—Executive Designer
Since 1986, Ellen Cassidy has been producing brochures, newsletters, magazines, logos, direct mail and annual reports. Taking projects from concept through completion, coordinating writers, photographers, illustrators and printing, Ellen carefully attends to client needs. Ellen produces a high quality product while honoring time and budget constraints.

From the winter of 1996 through the winter of 1997, Ellen designed and produced a quarterly news magazine for Unisys Corporation, working directly with the writer/editor. It was very well received by its audience and was used as a marketing tool by their sales representatives. Ellen also collaborated with the in-house creative director on the Unisys Annual report for seven consecutive years.

Patrick Boe—Senior Database/Web Developer
Patrick focuses on multi-tier Web development encompassing:
  • Advanced database design/implementation
  • XML Web services
  • Server-side technologies such as ASP.NET, ASP, ADO.NET, and ADO
  • Client-side technologies such as JavaScript, DHTML, and CSS
Patrick graduated with honors from Swarthmore College, where he majored in Computer Science. His studies focused on operating system design and the theory of computation.

His thesis work with Tia Newhall, on virtual memory management in a multiprocessing/multithreaded environment, is published in the proceedings of the IASTED International Conference on Parallel and Distributed Computing and Systems.
Joshua Galun—Senior Database/Web Developer
Josh has been engaged in Web development since since 1993, when he created an online computer magazine that was distributed through a network of FTP and Web domains, as well as through the early message board systems Usenet and FIDONet.

After that Josh began doing Web development for municipal and state governments, and then commercial Web applications with a focus on server-side scripting and database development.

Josh work spans many realms—from content syndication to intranet development—and many fields—from B2C and B2B Websites to non-profits.

Josh graduated from Swarthmore College with a GPA of 3.71 in History.
Timothy O'Malley—Senior Web Designer/Developer
Tim brings a distinctive combination of graphic design and Web development experience to Oaks|Design.

Tim's experience runs the gamut from traditional graphic design to user interface design to animation to dynamic HTML. His skills include HTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Flash/ActionScript.

Tim has a Fine Arts degree (with a multimedia concentration) from Philadelphia's University of the Arts.
